unit: 2020 Newmar Dutch Star 4369. Spartan K2 chassis, Cummins L9 450, Allison 4000, tag axle, 29,800 miles. at a lender yard near Waco, Texas, listed on lakeparkautoconnection.com in june.
first try, in may: a 2019 Ventana 4037 sitting in Oklahoma. i bid 171,000 and lost. never found out by how much. that's sealed bidding and i'm fine with it, but go in knowing it.
second try: this coach. bid 236,500. won.
comps i had: 2020 4369s at three dealers, 279,000 to 298,000, two of them with fewer miles.
buyer's premium: zero.
delivery: Waco is about 1,150 miles from the Lake Park office, so 150 miles over the free 1,000 at 70 cents, 105 dollars. showed up on day 12.
paper: Texas title with the lender's release on it and a bill of sale that names the lake park outfit as broker.
Minnesota sales tax, 6.875 percent of 236,500: 16,259. that one stung.

K2, i spent a lot of years around those. get an alignment after a few months on your own roads. a coach that sat can have a bushing that settled, and our northern potholes will find it.
the tag has its own air bags and a dump switch on the dash that lets the air out for tight turns. make sure it actually lifts the load off. some owners never touch it in five years and the valve sticks.

236 for a 2020 4369 with 30k is a very good number. i'd have bid 240 and felt clever about it. what's the winter plan up there, are you bringing it south or is it going inside?

what went wrong: the HWH leveling jacks. the first time i leveled it at home the right rear jack would not fully retract. the dash panel kept the jacks down light on, and since that's tied to the park brake the coach wouldn't let me drive off. not a fun first saturday.
called the lake park people. they gave me the name of an HWH certified shop and said send them the invoice if it turned out to be a warranty item. the shop in Grand Forks found a cracked fitting on the retract side of that jack, weeping, plus air in the system from sitting. new fitting, bled it, 280 dollars. the 6 month warranty paid it. the check took nine days to show up. slow, but it showed up.
quartzsite: inside. heated building at the old implement dealer in town, 1,150 for the season. my wife still works until june, so no Arizona for us yet.

eight tires, all 2020 date codes, no cracking the Grand Forks shop could find. they're on the list for 2027. the fronts are in my tire thread already.
coach is inside now. batteries on tenders, tanks drained, and i put a new air dryer cartridge in after reading hank in the storage thread. 90 dollars for the cartridge and an hour on my back.
