third winter with the Aspire and the first one where i'm not paying for heated indoor storage. the place in Ashwaubenon went from 1,100 to 1,900 for the season and i said no thanks. the coach is going on a concrete pad behind my brother in law's shop in De Pere with a 50 amp outlet.
option one, keep it plugged in, run the Aqua-Hot on electric only, thermostats at 45, water stays in. option two, blow the lines out, pink stuff in the traps, shut it all off and go check on it every couple weeks.
you can guess from the username that the Aqua-Hot and i have history. the one time it quit on me in january at a campground the zone heaters stopped and the wet bay was at 28 before i noticed. so i'm leaning toward two, but it feels dumb to own a boiler and not use it.

option two, every time, if nobody lives right next to it. the plugged in plan works great until the power blinks in an ice storm and the pedestal breaker doesn't come back on. then you find out in march.
i blow mine out at 40 psi with the low point drains open, pink in every trap and the washer. the Aqua-Hot boiler is already antifreeze so i leave it alone, just check the level and the color once a year.

we're doing option two too, in a pole barn on my cousin's farm west of town. there's no power out there, so that decided it for us. first Minnesota winter with a pusher, so i'm reading all of this.
question for the air brake people when they wander in. anything to do on the air system for storage besides draining the tanks?

gene, drain the tanks, leave the parking brake set, and if you can't find a receipt for the air dryer cartridge, put a new one in before you park it. once the desiccant is saturated, water gets past it into the valves, and water in a brake valve at 20 below makes for a bad morning.
for everybody: chassis batteries on a tender or disconnected, not just the house bank. the engine computer draws a little the whole time and a dead chassis battery in february will ruin a start.

reading this from Pigeon Forge with every window open. it's 71 here. that's all, just reporting.
real answer, back when we still had the house in Ohio we did option two and put a couple of DampRid tubs inside, and the coach came out in april smelling fine. the people we knew who plugged in and ran a little space heater inside were the ones with mice. a warm coach in a cold field is a hotel to them.

blew it out saturday. 3 gallons of pink, low points open, boiler fluid checked (a little dark, level fine), tanks drained. the dryer cartridge was done in may so i left it.
turns out the Aqua-Hot owner manuals are on their site by model and there's a storage section in there i should have read three winters ago, aquahot.com.
DampRid inside, steel wool stuffed where the slide boxes meet the floor. no cover. my brother in law says a cover rubs the paint worse than the snow does and i'm done arguing with him about it.
